Bless Her Heart

Bless Her Heart is the debut album from Carly Layne Shaver. It’s a first release that feels more like a front porch conversation than a grand introduction.

Produced by her husband (bold choice), guitarist, songwriter, and professional tone-chaser Andrew Shaver, the project keeps things honest and human. It sits comfortably between Nashville Americana and Texas Country, built on storytelling first. You might catch shades of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings in the stripped-back storytelling, with a little of that 90s singer-songwriter ease à la Patty Griffin, Sheryl Crow, and Lucinda Williams. It’s rootsy, a little raw around the edges, and meant to feel lived in.

The band is stacked: Matt Menefee, Brian Biehl, Caitlin Evanson, Jody Bartula, and Molly Jenson all jump in, bringing the kind of musicianship that makes you relax because you know you’re in good hands.

At its core, Bless Her Heart is about love, losing it, finding it again, and everything in between.

It’s a debut, yes. But mostly it’s a collection of stories that didn’t want to stay quiet anymore.
